Default electric fan

so im going to do an electric fan conversion this week. here is my issue. i've been trying to locate one around here off taurus and other cars that i can pull fans off. cheapest one i've found is off a mark VII that was75 dollars. and that would also requeire the thermostat kit and some fuse conversion stuff.

anyways so i went to autozone and they have universal fans

-16" is 64.99
-12" is 46.99

i figured i could run one 16" or dual 12". they are not rated on the box at CFM's but summit has the same exact looking fans and they are rated so i assume they are similar.

16" is 2,010 CFM's
12" is 1,250 CFM's

is the 16" inch fan at 2,010CFM'sby itself sufficient? if so that means i could wire one up with thermostat hook up for right at 100 dollars. if not would dual 12" fans at 2500CFM's be sufficient which i could run for right at 150 dollars. both combos would be cheaper than a brand name after market fan on JEGS or Summit and i cant really fine anything around here locally yet cheaper than that.

also I have dual row aluminum radiator and i run stock mech. fan with no shroud. i have no cooling issues right now. the rad runs pretty cool all the time. i can drive around for an hour get out and lay my hands on the rad and its barely hot to the touch. so i assume i have pretty good cooling system as is.

would 2,010CFM be sufficient in my case? if not i can always go your route mjr46. i just think it would be more convinient that i can just go down and pick up the wire kit and fan locally and if the fan sucks or whatever i can just order the flexalite fan and just swap it out real quick.

you should be fine... the larger the better but only if you do alot of citty driving is a larger fan necessary..at highway speeds air flow across the radiator is greater than any fan can pull

i wish i could find a taurus fan cheap... []

but this should be pretty sweet. i hear you can feel the difference. plus the mechanical fan is pretty loud as it is.

is 40+ shipping high for a taurus fan? i know there $25 at a pick and pull, but thats taking the time to go get it, if they even have one. $40 seems fair to me, only thing youre missing out on is if you were to grab all the wire while at pick and pull
