Default gauge install

I just received my mechanical oil pressure and water temp. gauges in the mail, and i need to know where the fitting for the water temp is, and where to hook up the hose for the oil pressure. it includes "universal instructions" but i would rather know stang specific. thanks.

take out your oil pressure sending unit and plug in the fitting in the same spot, route the nylon tube through your fire wall and into the back of your guage. as far as the water temp guage you got me my stock one works fine as far as i'm concerned as long as it lest me know i'm not overheating i really don't need to know the exact temp.

Did that water temp gauge come with a sensing bulb or sending unit? To make this work you need to take out the sending unit for the stock gauge and thread the new gauge's sending unit into its place.

the oil pressure sending unit looks like a dome, or upside down mushroom.
it has an electrical wire connected to the top of the dome

oil pressure, above the oil filter...long awkward fitting...
water temp, on the lower intake manifold (in pic)

I would not use that plastic tubing line to connect the oil pressure gauge if I were you. IF that line should break or come loose inside the dash, you will have one hell of a mess. Use some copper tubing or better yet, get the Autometer 4 ft long SS braided hose kit they sell just for things like this. costs about $42 or so but well worth it. very little chance of it busting inside the car and making a fire hazard or filling the dash with hot engine oil.

I agree I have seen the Bad results of the plastic line many times.
