I was thinking of a 302 with a 331 kit. ford racing e 303 cam with lifter kit. stock cylinder heads but port and polished. Cobra gt40 intake upper and lower. 24lb fuel injectors.
Bbk long tube headers with bbk off road x pipe. with flowmaster 40 series mufflers. What do you think i should expext for numbers and any other suggestions

Stock heads are what will be hurting you. If I had to say though I would guesstimate somewhere in the 260-280HP range.

 

347 kit, custom cam, aftermarket set of heads (Canfield, TFS, RHS, AFR) 185cc+ models........ better driveability and performance (ET's) than the alternative you're looking at. My

 

listen to joel, i wish i would have done that now, i could have had 30-40 more rwhp just from 16 more cubes, larger heads, and a slightly better cam to match everything.

 

thanks for all the info guys. im picking up the motor this week to do all the work to it. I will let you know what i end up doing to it.

 

Go 347 it's vertualy the same cost as the 331, and don't forget to upgrade the valve springs and retainers for the cam.
