Default 55mm to a 70mm Mass air meter

I recently got a 70mm Mass air meter from a 1993 cobra thru ebay,a nice unit to install in my 1992 GT 5.0,a bolt on procedure. The mass air meter is supposed to have been calibrated for 19lb and 24lb injecters, when I first start the car, its a rough idle then it smoothes out, when I rev it,sounds like varoooooom hiccup[sm=WTFsgign.gif]. I tried adjusting the timing, nothing . Hellllp! All suggestions greatly appreciated.[sm=smiley22.gif]

cobras were 24# only, i don't believe it is possible for it to be calibrated for both, in fact i'm almost positive, one or the other, but sounds like your problem

It will be calibrated for 24lb injectors. It is possible that it could have been set for our stock 19 but being both is not going to happen.

Roundman once mentioned this to me and it worked. Also reading up on the computer of our stangs I know it will help.

Try un plugging your battery for about 15 mins to clear the memory in the computer. Next time you floor it the computer will recalculate proper air fuel curves for your car.

This will help too and I recommend you do it anyway.
