Default difficulty level, replacing intake man gasket

So any opinions on the difficulty level replacing the intake manifold gaskets. Thus far have changed alternator, headers and basic maintenance.

you can do it. really simple, take your time. takes maybe an hour at best. only thing you have to make sure you do correctly is using the rtv sealent

so do you use rtv and a gasket? That's what i did when i changed my thermostat. I put rtv on one side to make sure the gasket didn't move.

well on the therm. gasket you shouldnt use rtv but no worries. no on the intake gasket you just put it into place, it has locking tabs that holds it into place via the head gasket. your gaskets for the intake will come with some either rubber or cork to go on the ends, just throw them away and use rtv in their place, much better seal in the end.

my gasket set came with the cork end seals and i just put a layer of rtv sealent on the top and bottom of those seals and put a little glob where they meet the other gasket.

if your doing the lower intake gasket, just make sure to mark your distributor and remember where the vacuum lines went. always check the timing when your done just in case. if you have any mechanical skills and you take your time, its not that bad to do
