Default tire sizes

The tire sizes are different on my car. The person before me must have done this. I'm not sure which size is stock. 225 55 16 front 245 50 16 on the rear. How wide can you go with the stock wheels? Any advise would be helpful as I will be needing new tires for inspection when I get it on the road. Oh I have a 92 lx. 5.0 5 speed

The 225's are stock. The stock wheels are gonna be 7in wide. While you could go all the way to 255, you'll get abnormal tread wear. Your best bet would be to either stick with 225's up front, or maybe go up to 235's(I have 235's and get a little rubbing at full turning) and stick with 245's out back.

Im quessing you have the pony rims on your car since they are stock 16inch. I would stick with 225 in front maybe go to 235 dont go bigger but in the back if you have lower control arms aftermarket ones not stock in place get rid of the quad shocks and you could go all the way up to 275 in the back thats what I got but i also have 17x8.5 rims roh's. But I seen people fit 275 and bigger on stock rims 7in wide.

Huh, that's strange about not having much room up front for wider tires. If I keep the 245s in the rear which I probably will now, won't be able to rotate tires. But I guess most people burn them off anyway. thanks for advice.

You can still rotate which I would suggest just rotate from side to side. Its better than nothing and it will help with the wear and tear of turning the front tires.

Then wouldn't the tire direction be wrong by swapping sides?

Depends on if you have directional tires. But I still think they can be turned around.
