ORIGINAL: 90Mustangfan

Im going to have about 800 or so bucks to spend on mods. I cant decide between putting a E cam, 1.7RR and performer intake manifold....Or get a pair of used heads with the stock cam and stock manifold. Which would make more power. I cant get both at the same time. so If I get heads ill have to wait to save more money. So which yields more power E cam, 1.7RR, performer intake manifold....or A pair old good used heads?
I was leaning toward getting the cam, intake and rocker arms. Then get heads later down the road. How much gain should I expect from E cam, performer intake manifold and 1.7RR's?

i think it would be very wasteful for you to buy 1.7RR for stock heads unless you never plan on buying a set of aftermarkets. i say buy the heads, save up some more money and get a manifold on ebay and youll be much happier in the long run than keeping the stockers.

Ok, with the combintaion of my mods now 4.10's, 70mmtb, CAI, MAF. Pulleys. Headers, H-pipe, Mufflers. Theres not much left to do but Heads, cam, intake. I have plenty of low end from the 4.10's. So If I Get a Edlebrock performer(1500-5500), with the E303(1500-5500), and 1.7 RRs, new lifter and pushrods. Then do heads later. How much hp will I pick up from that?Im getting all the stuff really cheap. Lifter are $120(new), 1.7RR are $150(new), E303 $100(new). Performer intake. $300(used). how much Hp will I gain from that combintaion?

do you want to cut corners or do it right?? why waste your time with used
heads that aren't gonna give you that much of a difference in
power. you have 800 bucks right now. save 600$ more and buy a brand new
set of airflow research heads. 165cc or 185cc they come cnc ported
your gonna need a good set up 1.6 roller rockers and hardend
push rods. those add ons wil be at least 350$ then gaskets 50$ can
you save or get another 1000$. then from there move up to 24 lbs
injectors, then get a intake because you will need it. just a thought

GT40Y heads, Cobra 1.7 rockers, TFS #1 cam...
Have a never run set of GT40Y heads that were takeoffs and were $699 from buyfordmotersport.com. I also have a used TFS #1 cam in great shape( unsure of milage, but was bought new by me from Summit) and a set of never used, bolted down only Cobra 1.7 roller rockers with an unused rocker shim kit.

$675 shipped UPS for the heads

$100 shipped for the cam

$150 for the rockers and needed 1/4 Allen bit for a 3/8 drive ratchet to install. SK brand, lifetime warranty and was $6 for the socket.

Buy the heads/rockers for $825 shipped and I'll toss in the cam for FREE!

I will do COD for an extra $10, if you have positive feedback somewere.

The reason for selling is they will not match the 347 stroker I am building
