Default Rattle sound from underneath 1993 GT

I have a rattling sound from underneath my 1993 mustang gt, sounds like its coming from the front middle area. Noise happens only for a short time at say 1500 rpm when accelerating from an idle position, more so noticable if i start from second gear.

Sound is hard to describe sort of a "rolling rattle", as I said only for a very short time, 1/2 second about.

I have just had headers and midpipe put on and sound is still there so it isnot an exhaust rattling issue.

Would a transmission flush be a good start? Could something be caught in there? I havent the slightest clue and am not prepared to be taken for a ride by the local mechanic (just moved to this town). Be nice to have an idea what to suggest when i do take it in.

Thanks so much!

Sean

so crawl under it while you have someone rev it and use your ears to find the noise

Check the exhaust hoop over the rear for contact with the sub frame orupper control arm.

Is this only while lightly loading the drivetrain?

what kinda midpipe did you put on .. i got my car with an x pipe and there was always a rattle .. it turned out where you plug your sensors into there is a fitting and since nothing was attached to it it was popping in and out of the pipe and had to have it tac welded in place ...

sorry I didnt clarify, yes the sound is only there when I put load on the motor (in gear).

midpipe is an offroad bbk h-pipe, sound has been there since before I put the H on though >.<

Thank you everyone for your prompt replies!

That's probably the cluster shaft in the transmission. Mine does it too but closer to 1000rpm. Is it a problem? No.

Mine rattled, after looking at it for a long time i found out it was one of my exhaust hangers was loose, and it would only do it at certain rpms...

You might want to recheck to make sure everything is nice and tight.
