Default hesitation problem.

I just rebuilt my engine and now it runs fine but it seems like it is very slugish off the line. It is a 306 with stock rebuilt heads and a E303 cam. I have a 255lph fuel pump and the fuel regulator is set at 40psi. I have 19lbs new injectors and stock intake manifold. Once the rpms rev up to about 2500 it kicks butt, but it seems very slugish and it seems like it takes a few seconds to respond to the pedal. I dont know what is going on but Im wondering if I need bigger injectors or more fuel pressure. It also might be the bigger cam. Maybe a new intake manifold will help. Please give me some suggestions. Timing is at 16.

I know it is a large pump but I have used it before I rebuilt the engine and it worked fine. Maybe I have the fuel pressure too high at 40. I cant remember what I had it at before I rebuilt the motor.

That is what I think too. Someone else told me that when you go with a larger cam you get a little hesitation off the line because of the rough idle. Maybe that is just it.

How about a new manifold I was thinking trick flow or edelbrock. You think that would make it more responsive?
