Whats the differences and advantages and pros and cons of having a solid roller or a hydraulic roller camshaft. I want the motor to be a efi motor but just don't know if that says what I must use then. Its not going to be my daily driver with gas the way it is. Its a street strip car. I will take it to the track with my friends I'm not going to be a die hard track guy where I would be going every weekend. But I still want to take it out to car shows and to the city and to school when its nice out and take it on a few road trips but its not going to be a daily driver if its nice out yea I might take it but I have other cars I could drive. So its kinda going to be one but only if its nice out no rain.. So whats better for what I want to do. By the way the motor is going to be a 347.

RE: Cams
Advantages:
[ul][*]More area under the lift curve when compared to similar duration HFT and HR cam cam profiles.[*]Better valve train stability.[*]Due to the above, more rpms potential, more airflow, better performance.[/ul]Disadvantages:
[ul][*]A little noise (for some of us is music).[*]Maintenance required (valve lash) every 9-12 months.[/ul]Is it "worth it"........ Oh yeah!... but correct valve train setup/config is a must.

I think I'm going to go with that valley girdle and the cam I'm still trying to decide. You guys didn't answer my main question in that cam question. Could I run a efi setup with a solid roller?

Regarding the valley girdle........how would 3 points (which still have the block (made weaker by drilling) and bolts as the weak spots), prevent cracking of the block?
