Default Timing and Nitrous

I was wondering if you needed to retard timing with a 100 or so shot of nitrous. Thanks for the input

I dunno, I don't have nitrous and i'm not sure if I ever will. I know retarding it for turbos and superchargers is always a good idea. So it would seem like it'd be a good idea with nitrous as well. But then again you won't have that constant pressure on the engine. It's your call, if you plan to use it frequently then i'd probably take it down a couple degrees but if it's not too often then I don't think it'd hurt to leave it. - This is just my opinion, I hope a n2o guru will come and clear this up!

for every 50hp shot n20 you retard the timing 1 degree.... Atleast we did on my car... i run 16 degrees n/a and 13 degrees on spray... The MSD retards it when the n20 sprays.

I might be wrong but I thought it was 2 degrees of timing for every 50 horses of nos.

yep 2 degrees theroretically for every 50 hp addition and once you get up aroung 125 to 150 a step colder on the plug should be considered and timing retarded accordingly

as a starting point retard timing 2 degrees for every 50hp, but you can usually get away with more timing.
start low and add 1 degree at a time till it detonates, then back it out 2 degrees.
