Default Rear gear?

I have a 1990 GT vert that I am trying to get more pep out of without spending a fortune. I have done headers and midpipes with cats and has flowmaster mufflers. It has the original 3.08 rear gear. I thought by changing to a 3.73 or even a 4.10 I would get the most bang for my buck. Or am I going down the wrong path all together. This car is just a toy.

Gears aredefinately a worthwhile upgrade.
Go with the 4.10's.
I had them put in when my car still had an AOD and now its got a T5 and I still like the 4.10's.

I have a 5spd and went with 3:73's it all depends on how much driving you do, if you dont have to go on the e-way at all i would def go with 4:10's

FYI. anything over 3.55's on an AOD and you cannot properly correct the speedo..... no matter how hard you try

if its a manual, you can change out the drive gear in he tranny.

Wait a minute, so if I put 4.10's on my Stang than I wouldn't really be going 70 MPH if thats what the speedometer says?

And if so, is it more speed in reality or less?
