Default Edelbrock Perf. vs. typhoon

Question on the Edelbrock performer intake vs. the typhoon by professional products. This is for a pretty base 5.0. Just ported heads, may go to totally different heads in the furture, no cam upgrade yet. As the car sits now does the typhoon flow to much until higher rpms. Which is better for a base 5.0. There is a big price difference $200? unless I'm missing something.

I've got the typhoon and it performs pretty good, i noticed a big improvement over the stock intake.

You will however want to gasket match it, which won't take much time.

What does gasket match mean? And doesn't the Typhoon come with a gasket that fits it anyways?

Eventhough it is an imitation, I have heard good things about the typhoon, if you have any doubts do some research elsewhere about this product. But when it comes to money I do not have deep pockets.
This is something that I am considering in getting soon.............as soon as I am done with my headers![:@]

What does gasket match mean?
gasket matching means putting a gasket on the intake and drawing a line around the port then porting it to match the gasket correctly, the typhoon intake comes with crappy ports that dont match the intake at all, so it doesnt flow well, unless you port it

yeah i dont see why you couldnt use a dremel, or you can just buy an edelbrock were the ports are done correctly
