Default quick help please

I recently i recently had my 3.73 gear installed and it threw my speedo off. I bought the correct plastic speedometer gear to correct it, but i have no idea where this gear is located. Any help on where i could find it would be appreciated

it is on the left hand side of the trans (drivers side) just in front and above the trans mount. lossen the cable bolt, either a 10 or 11 mm bolt. take the cable out and the speedo gear is right there. the original one is yellow, you should have a white color speedo gear if you have a 3.73 gear.

ORIGINAL: gmkiller50

1) either a 10 or 11 mm bolt.
2) the original one is yellow, you should have a white color speedo gear if you have a 3.73 gear.
1) yeah it's a 10 mm
2) it's yellow if he had 2.73's otherwise it's black, all this is assuming he has a 5-speed.

the white one is a 23t and still incorrect for your car, you have a 8t drive so you would need about a 27t driven which is obviously not available. the 23t white will get to w/in about 7% of correct, but will chew up eventually since it is a jeep gear and not ford

but where the location was described... in the tailshaft area, drivers side.... it's right there. and c-clipped on the end of the speedo cable when you pop it out w/ that (1) 10mm bolt

ok i see in sig... 5-speed

anyways, to actually correct it properly.. you need to do a 6t or 7t drive gear, but the tailshaft has to come off to do it.

a 6/18 or a 7/21 will work perfect
