so what exactly are you having trouble with?

 

I tried bolting the pipes up to the header first and then planned to work my way back. The flange that connects to the headers were too small. I could only get one bolt through and belive me, i tried every angle. Even when i would put the two pipes up to the header they seemed to be angled wrong. I bought this kit just for the 94-95 setup from summit. It had all the instructions and the x pipe itself seemed to fit pretty well, just not the pipes for the headers. I had just finished the headers and when the pipes didn't seem to fit i decided to take them to the exhaust shop and they said the same thing, just not going to work. They could have sent the wrong stuff, but I think from what people are saying I am just going to go ahead and buy a bbk setup and send the old stuff back. Anyone know of a different route to take?

 

the summit pipes should be bbk pipes...

 

Well Summit has great customer service, I'm sure if you notified them of the problem they would either refund your money or exchange the pipe for another one. Usually Summit puts their name on quality products.

 

Worse case, if summit won't takeit back....sell it quick for $75 on craigslist,gather up another 75 and get a BBK X.

 

summit will refund but i have summit x pipe and it worked out perfectly. not sure what the issue is, maybe they missed it just before quality control check, every once in a while one sneaks through. but also the bbk and summit pipes are the same, same jigs are used to weld them up.

 

+1 I had the summit h pipe on my 89 and that fit perfect.

 

Called summit and they said no prob. on the return. I think something just got mixed up because it just didn't fit. Got the BBK on the way so I am hoping this will work out and I can get my car on the road again without being open headers

 

open headers for the win!! bbk ones fit good.. I've installed a few set before on sn-95's

 

Good to hear about the bbk fitting. Open headers will make you explode after 15 min and at a certain rpm. Can't wait to get it done. Thanks for the posts everyone.
