Default new distributor

It look like my problem is in the distributor. Ive been looking at Mallory and MSD distributors. Whihc would be a better choice. Also I was reading that I need a special harness for the coil if I choose to use the msd. I dont know if I need that or not since I dont plan on upgrading to a box. I need just a dop in replacement for a stock ignition system.

If there are any other brands I should look into let me know. Im trying to stay under $300.
