Default Fan Clutch

I decided to pop out my fan and have a look at it. There a screw sticking out of it. What's the deal with this screw? Is it suppose to be like this? Should I just get a new clutch for this thing?

my clutch was locked up on mine.. but i went ahead and replaced both the clutch and fan. your clutchs looks beat up so i would replace that. your fan doesnt need replaced unless the blades are messed up.. or if you got a friend in the parts department at ford

Nope. I had it idling and it went to about the half way marker. Then I turned the AC on and it went almost to the red line at the top. What would cause that?
