TFI Module help
Hey guys, I don't know how many have the experience, but I was curious if anyone could say if motorcraft tfi module was better than say an aftermarket one, like accel or something similar? I ask, because my 'parts' 2.3T distr *has broken cap*, has been sitting for a while, and i know the TFI modules are usually best to be replaced when sitting. I have seen some aftermarket(non ford brand) TFI modules, and they were nowhere near the 120 dollars ford wants. Any experience with them? Liked, disliked? Did they have factory fit? buy one, avoid it?
I am needing a TFI and PIP module, to modify my efi 460 distr, to put into my 351c(converting it to efi). The 460 efi dist, just has a bunch of wires coming from the case. I was planning on using the 2.3T distr for reference on how it all should look, as the TFI module itself was the same.
Thanks guys!

RE: TFI Module help
I just put in an Accel distributor and it came with the accel tfi. Works great. The car is stout, has more power, and doesnt miss and jerk like my stocker did. Ive been beating on it all day trying to heat soak it (since my old one working work when hot) and it hasnt give out yet. I hope it fixed my problem.

RE: TFI Module help
car dies out after cold starts, will randomly die, due to the TFI module being overheated/bad, where it sends no signal to the eec. TheEEC is connected to the coil, and the coil obviously provides the power for a spark, but the eec cannot tell when the distr is going to fire on what cyl's, so it doesn't open the injectors up. It will run 'muddy', due to poor signal. Search the forum if you want more info.

RE: TFI Module help
I had an Accel for a while, but it crapped out. I also tried a Performance Distributors TFI module which seemed to work fine, but it would cause the EEC to throw a code. I've never tried Mallory, but they make them also.
