Default distributor/cam pos. sens. question?

i own a 94 gt, tuesday i ran my 2nd dyno with upsetting results hp down from 255 to 243, tq down from 285 to 263...WTF! the curves did look the same though.i even did a few minor modssince the first pull 2 yrs ago from now. i recently pulled my dizzy, before the 2nd pull, pulled wires off the cap, and was wondering if i may have put them back on wrong, one off or so. i did set timing back to 14* (plug pulled) i looked at the cam pos sens. and noticed one tong is narrower than the others, could this be my problem? the computer sensing the wrong readings due to the rotation of the wires being off one... oh and i really got showed up by a 2000ws6 they told me he ran 326 hp ... yea i dont believe it either, could the dyno just not beoff or what?

thanks

turn your timing down to 12°, and make sure your distributor is in correctly

it is possible... VERY possible to get it in wrong.

there are many teeth on the cam gear, if you dont get the distributor set to the correct tooth, you can cause MANY problems

and you said the timing was set to 14°

that IS advanced... stock is 10°

yes it is advanced to 14* when i pulled my dizzy off i put it back on exactly the way it came off, i marked it but i did not mark the cap and the wires, like an idiot, and then found mytiming was WAY retarded, im talking it was around the 0-2mark,car ran like crap and would even die at stop lights, i knowthe dizzy isinstalled correctly but im just not sure the wires are correct on the cap because the cap is not marked. could this be my problem?

WERE THE WEATHER/TEMP CONDITIONS THE SAME TWO YEARS AGO as they were when you just had it tested??? air quality can greatly affect numbers on one day vs another and if you have a little loss of compression due to an aging engine that'll all figure into lower numbers too

if you're worried about the wrong wires.... then look up the firing order for a 5.0 ho or a 351 since they are the same order, do NOT use the f/o off a regular 302 like a bronco or something. those are not ho engines.
but i suggest you still check the tech article on how to properly stab your dizzy to be absolutely sure it's right
