Check for accelerator cable play or bent accelerator pedal.

I have found that while the pedal is floored, there is still another 1/2-3/4 of an inch of playbefore wide open throttle is really there.

I found my stock motor revved to 5800 on the stock tach, which was really about 5000.
when im at 6250, my stock tach says like 7200

Read your cam card. That will dictate where it all works, **** you can spin it till it blows if you want,then you'll know the the real redline or deadline if you want to call it that.Keep in mind like Nit. B said buy the time you shift and you go into the next gear auto or Man your going to be up some rpm. whenI shift my PA auto with man valve body at 6300 it shifts at 6500. rev limiter set at 6900. Don't need to be into that on the juice. Just remember what curve you need to be in .If your not doing some engine overhaul use gears and tire size to get your best performance

Well the car im getting has stock block and rotating assembly with Trick Flow intake manifolds, mass air, bbk CAI, and full exhaust with a B303 Cam. I'm dropping $4500 to get it, im not going to blow it up just yet =) lol. I"ll take ya'lls word for the 5,800 tops
