on the intake there are various ports ...these I refer to a source vaccum points because they provide vaccum to various components such as emissions controls, brake booster and pcv system.....with a can of carb cleaner spray all vaccum hoses slowly listening for a change in engine idle and spray all intake mating/gasket areas and egr calve and anything that carries vaccum..when idle changes you have found a leak..= fix it and look for the next if any exist

Heres a video of it idling after 10 min. Once the check engine light stays on it will smell rich.
If i'm out driving it the light will come off and it drives just fine, but once its idling all the problems start up again.

Can i get the IAC ordered at the ford dealer?
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

now why do you have to send your car in for that?

I'm not sure I understand your question.

I cleaned out the electronics on the throttle body and replaced the IAC but now It will idle fine until i put it into reverse in which the rps will drop low, either stall, or jump up and then start to surge from 900-1500 sometimes higher. and when I put it back into park it will continue to do the same thing.

The problem doesnt happen if I just leave it in park or drive. As soon as I put it in reverse it acts as it use to before the IAC replacement.

is there indeed a connection with my idle problem and my reverse gear?

I'm probably just going to replace all my vaccum lines and go from there.
