Like he said before, but I'd put it on the passenger side to help balance out the driver's weight.

Put it on the passenger side. The rear passenger tire is where the weight of the car transfers when you get on it. Heres what i did

Default RE: rear mount battery where do I mount it

I put ours in the spare tire well due to the down bar from the roll bar being in the way its a coupe and I moved it to the left and to the rear as far as I could due to the car keeps twisting all the weight to the pass. side and it is burring the right rear tire in the wheel well real bad moving to the left side helped it to where it is leaving more level now. If you watch a mustang leave or any car for that matter it will roll over on the right tire and when it rolls it lifts the body on thedriver siderear tire some also. So my thinking is move the weight to the left side and it will help level the car out when it leavesso far it has worked. and I can tell you it hooks better also. But I have not got to leave real hard yet with it. Also if you are gone to drag race it and your track is hard on the rules it must be vented out side the car and you will need a kill switch that shuts the car off when it is turned off says the NHRA rules book.

not if you buy the right kind of battery.. I have an optima red top = dry cell = no vent needed
