no compression
Ok, I did something stupid this weekend, I had no comression in my #5 cylinder, so I figured blown head gasket. I spent the good part of yesturday replacing this gasket. I hooked up my tester, and what do you know, no compression. I can think of alot of stuff I should have done before just throwing the motor back together, but hind sight is 20/20. I have AFR heads on, that where new last summer, with roller rockers. I checked the #6 cylinder and it tests fine. I added a little oil to the cylinder and this did nothing. I get 0 compression. Could I have a sticking valve? Bad piston rings? I thought with bad rings, I would get alittle compression, but I get nada.

RE: no compression
ok, here is a update. I went out to the garage and took off my rockers on the cylinder, sprayed alittle wd40 around the valves, let them sit for abit, then took a small deadblow hammer and gave each valve a little tap. Hooked up my compersion test gauge hoseand could hear air being pushed out through the shreider valve in the hose. Put back on my rockers, set them up and adjusted them to specs, and then hooked up the comperssion tester with the gauge. Low and behold, I have compersion. Sometimes it helps for me to just put the wrench down, walk away, think abit, maybe put up a post on my problems, then go back to it with a clear mind. Thanks to you all that responded. I am still alittle concerned about the original problem that lead me to do the compresion test, the smoke coming from my tail pipes after the car has gotten up to temp. This was the only cylinder that tested low, compared to the other seven, so I pulled the head and put in a new head gasket.
