Default I need Rear end Help!

my 94 GT spung a leak in the rearend and ran dry before I noticed it. I fixed the leak but now my rear end roars once I get past 25 mph. Is there any way that I can adjust it so that it doesnt roar anymore?

Did you put the correct amount and type of fluid back in along w/ some friction modifier.

What exactly is the friction modifier? And where do you get it?

to late for fluid to do any good!! you have toasted bearings..pull it apart and inspect both carrier bearings and both front and rear pinion bearing and for that matter axle bearings too!!![:@]

So do you think its the bearings that is making the wineing/roaring noise and not the gears themself?

roaring noise most likely is bearings expecially if you ran it with no fluid...bearings will make a rough roar noise

Look at the gears too they will also make the roar noise if they got hot. look and see if they are black, blue or just look like metal that got hot.

K....I'll try to look at the color of the gears this weekend. If the gears arediscolored, will the friction stuff work then?

I could be wrong on this, but I'mthinking it's notthe bearings because it only makes the roaring noise when I give it gas. I can be going down the interstate about 60 mph and push and hold the clutch in and the noise goes completely away.

The gears didn't look like they were discolored. Could it be that they somehow moved?

It only makes the roaring noise when I give it gas. Would this noise mean that the gears are too close together or to far apart?
