Default clunk noise while driving

i have a clunk noise while driving. only when coasting in or out of gear it goes, clunk clunk clunk clunk and the slower you go the clunk noise slows as well like it only at a certain point in the rotation of the rear wheels.

the wear thing is that the clunk stops when the car is under load, even the slightest amount of throttle stops the clunking.

any ideas of what the problem is? or how to narrow down what it is?

I have a similar problem, but only does it when taking off slowly or coming to a slow stop in gear. Thought it was U joints, but I pushed my car back recently(battery was disconnected) in my drive way and I heard it coming from the rear wheel. It sounds like a fan rotaing that is out of balance.

AOD or stick?

My AOD was causing a clunking noise when decelerating because the kickdown cable wasnt adjusted right.

yea my car does the same thing..typically on slow take offs....im thinking its somewhere suspension related...fiveOHH..does your car jerk randomly sometimes, or you hear the clunk sound when you shift from first to 2nd???..

no, its only when rolling in or out of gear. while under load there is no clunk noise.

i seariously down throwout bearing, i know what that sounds like.

its a constant noise when rolling. 1 clunk per revolution of the wheel.
