How to clean Engine

Could i just spray it down with engine degresser and spray it down with the water hose?? but how do i keep water from going in the carb???

tape a plastic bag over carb and cover dizzy cap up and I use a pressure washer and degreaser and and compressed air to blow it dry afterwards
