Just like the title says, how hard would it be to rebuild a 302? Any special tools needed? About how long do you think it would take?

I have NO experience with rebuilding car engines, but I did used to tear down and rebuild the 2 stroke engines in my dirtbikes all the time, and I'm pretty good with tools.

Thanks guys

depends on what you consider rebuilding it??? if it needs machine work then a shop will have to do that..if you plan to assemble it then you'll need torque wrenches piston ring expanders and tool to install pistons in bores......and basic hand tools needed

I was thinking about building a 306/308 with H/C/I, and then next summer I would buy a 4 banger notch to put it into (would buy the car now but don't have anywhere to put it).

In the long run would it be better to buy a 302 from a donor car and rebuild that or just build a whole new engine from the block up?
