Default Best 5.0 engine buldups

Wanted to get everyone's input on 5.0 buildups. I'm lookin at building a n/a fuel injected 5.0. I want it to be streetable and fast. If you can all list engine buildups and maybe dyno numbers or your opinions on the best aftermarket parts(best head, cam, etc.). Thanks for any input.

I've heard very good things about AFR 185 heads and the holley intake. What's everyone's opinion on ford 5.0 cams?

i have the afr 185's with the systemax upper&lower and believe me you will
feel the difference. but you have to get other things as well to make that combo
work right. longtube headers,24lb inj,65-70mm tb,x or hpipe,maf,4.10 gears
one other thing it doesnt start making real hp till 5000 rpm. i have seen mustangs
stop making power at 5000rpm. comp cams in my opinion makes the best
stay away from the ford e,f,b,x,z

The Ford alphabet cams are not bad cams, they are just old designs. I happen to love my B cam, but if I were to go with some AFR 185s, I would definetely change the cam. IMO, you need to let us know what you are looking for in the motor. Do you want a street/strip motor, a boulevard cruiser, or a ***** to the wall drag motor. All of these things play into it.

FWIW, I feel that a 331 with AFR 185s, Performer II, and a custom FTI cam is the way to go. Slap some nitrous on top of that and have fun!

I'm lookin to build a street/strip motor. Enough power to eat any bow tie that pulls up next to me, but decent manners on the street.

Then I suggest a mild 331 combo. Something like what I listed above. Now, if you don't want to go the stroker route, you could build a 302 with some AFR 165s. I have seen some 331 AFR/Edelbrock/FTI combos put down 360 to the wheels.
