Emissions HELP
I got a 95 mustang Gt with basic bolt on's: cobra upper lower intake, cobra heads, underdrive pulleys, 65mm TB, cold air, long tube headers, with dual cats and flowmasters. MAF sensor, no idea what cam might be an E cam, ford racing distributor, and an MSD ign box.
The car still has all the emissions stuff connected. The car will not pass emissions here in TN. It keeps failing on the HC's to pass it has to be below 220 ppm and it's at 400.
Before I got it tested I put 87 octane in it and turned the timing down to 8 deg BTDC. The idle is at about 600 rpm.
It doesn't throw any codes and doesn't have any vacuum leaks. So WTF could it be? [sm=bangbang.gif]

have you changed the oil lately???...how many miles are on the car?? if it has high milage the HC may be a result of some blow by getting into the cumbustion mixture causing a raise in hc........has the car had a tune up lately?? also the cats if they are the originals and car has over 100k they may not be as effective anymore
also check fuel pressure hc 's are unburt fuel molecules = car may be running a tad rich..also I've seenaftermarket mass air meters cause such before too .....it could be alot of things
