28 or 31 spline axles?

28 or 31 spline axles?

How can I tell if I have 28 or 31 spline axles without opening my rearend? I have an 8.8, 5 lug disc rearend out of a Mark VII and want to but an auburn limited slip in it.

I would say it's a 28 spline..I think only trucks,suv came with 31 splines

vfast is correct,unless somebody has changed the axles and carrier,all cars have 28 spline.
