Default How to dump exhaust on GT

I forgot to adjust tailpipes when I tightened exhaust up last night....I kinda wanna put my sawsall to use a cut these off(save lb). My only concern would be for it to not smell real bad.

your really not gonna save enough weight by taking them off if that's your goal. ive had two type s of dumps on my car and you can smell a lil hint of gas in the car but it's not as bad as everybody says it is. definatley louder and will give you a lil more flow. make sure you get some turndowns or your going to have backfiring issues and it will sound ungodly raspy(been there done that).

I'll just leave em...I paid for them and there 2.5" with 3" turndowns. If they were rusted and rotted w/ holes I do it just to see what its like.

I have a dumped exhaust and cant smell any fumes or gas. Taking tailpipes off on a mostly stock 302 will result in a tq loss but tailpipes will hurt the performance of a larger cubic inch/higher hp engine.

Well then now all you have to do is loosen the clamps and adjust the tailpipes. Unless you welded it. But you said tighten. So get at it and adjust those tailpipes.
