yes, the rings are staggerd and right side up, they are file fit from perfect circle, did everything slowly and propely. a machine shop did the .030 overbore. Yes, the kit is pistons with pin in oil ring lands and a spacer under the oil rings. Yes, I put on 2 PVCbreathers plumbed into vacuum line. Please help, something very wrong. Thanks

leakdown is your next step, not a static compression check, an actual leak down, that will tell you if ring seal is the culprit. Pin in the oil ring is irrelevant, the only time thats an issue is if the knucklehead didnt use the rail spacer, seen it may times, but thats not the case here

Drive some more at normal speeds for a week, and pull the plugs to narrow it down and let us know what you found.

But congratson the build!!!!!,we alllove the stroker packages for the 5.0, makes a true 12 second car.

It should be one breather and one PCV valve.

No need to drive it normal, a leakdown will tell you in 10 minutes if the rings are an issue.

ok ,I'll make up an oldspark to air adaptor and do leak-down test. This test is very fuzzy to me, it's been several years. Do I put theno. 1cylinder on the compressionstroke TDCso the valves are closed? After I do no.1, I turn the engine over by handtill the rotor points to the next terminal on the cap and so on and so on, right? Thanks

they make a special tester to do that test and yes the valves have to be closed and follow the firing order around the cap
