Default my 347 Blows oil

I bought a stroker kit from Summit (347), got it all together and running. I tried seating the rings on the hyway, up and down with the speed, don't know if it needs more, molly rings are funny that way. The next day I give it a couple of hard runs, saw alot of smoke in my mirror from wher I took off from, cleared up in 2 and 3 gear. Also my engine gets all wet from oil spaying out of the dipstick tube. Talked to some freinds that said my crankcase is over pressurized and that the oil return gallies are not big enough to drop the oil back down. Here's my question. What can I do to fix this without taking the engine out again. I just want to start enjoying it, because man does it MOVE!!!!!! Thanks for any help.

The way we hone cylinders today, the rings are usually seated by time the engine is done being assembled. If not, very soon afterwards, very soon. How many miles are on it? As for the dipstick coming out, yes the crankcase is pressurized, fancy terms that mean the cylinder pressure is blowing past the rings, which comes back to the machinist who honed this block. Has absolutely nothing to do with the 2 return galleys in the lifter valley. Who assembled this engine?

OK, to answer both of you, I assembled the angine myself and it runs really strong (except for the cloud of smoke). Here's more specs: Holley 600dp, stealth intake, stock rebuilt heads, energizer cam-lifters-roller rockers(1.7), MSD stand alone distribitor, and of coarse a 347 eagle stroker kit and a summit high volum oil pump. I hope this stuff helps and thanks in advanve for any help.

Staggered rings mike is no real big deal as the angle of the crosshatch is what determines how fast the rings rotate in the bore, to the OP, you did use the rail spacers for the oil ring lands correct?

Hey Jim....on a side note just to let you know got a whopping 450 miles on the engine finally and did the second oil change and cut the good ole fl-1a open and not a spec in the filter or case!!! and I had two large magnets strapped to the filter......as of right now she runs great!!.. going on a 250 mile round trip tommorrow with some friends to C.A.D car show in PA

PCV or any other kind of crankcase venting? Todays rings seat quick. Are you sure they are on correctly? Not upside down? Are they file fit? did you check the clearence with a guage? most guys are so happy when everything comes back from the machine shop and they have all their parts that they DON'T take their time getting it togather. It'll run , but how well and for how long?
