i put mobil 1 75w 90 full syntheticgear oil inmine on a fresh rebuild. it sounds like it would be real thick but its not. it poured real quick and easy. if im not mistaken i think it was about 2 and 3/4 quarts. it shift awesome. smooth in any gear. it downshifts great, not notchy or anything. a buddy of mine with a t-5 used amsoil ATF in his and it shifts good too. i would recommend both.

NEVER put gear oil in a t-5 EVER.[&:] the t-5 is designed to use atf, sounds strange to have a manual use auto fluid but thats because of the ports that are inside the case, gear oil is too think and wont move you can only use atf. i use royal purples syncromaxx, it's atf designed for a std tranny
quickstang if you put gear oil in there, flush it NOW! it may work for a short time since you said it was just rebuilt, the new parts are gonna make it feel like it's fine, dont kill your tranny after a fresh rebuild

I use Royal Purple and have been very pleased. Sure it cost a little more but heck you dont have to change it very often.

Dude i hope you got a non world class t5 otherwise you are WRONG. never use gear oil in world class t5. Any WC t5 uses dextron/mercon 3 automatic transmission fluid. royal purple, amsoil, b and m quick shift, and gm synchromesh are all good alternitives to use and are premium fluids
