Default cars dying.

i went around a turn, i was in second and i put in the clutch before i turned.. not even half way turned into the driveway car just dies...
its done this 3 times now.

am i not allowed to hold the clutch in while putting on brakes then let it out in whatever gear i want?

my father said i cant, he said always be in gear and give it gas.. he said it dies because im at idle. any clues?

Have you cleaned the throttle body and idle motor lately?

well i know you can put in the clutch when you put the brake on because i do it...but i have an auto right now and for some reason after i just start it up if i put it into drive or reverse or nutral or anyting really it dies some times...its weird i think i need to clean the injectors because i may have been sitting and i just got the car or i need to play with the ideal a little

But have you cleaned the throttle body good?
The idle motor may be going bad.
Have you also tried a dump in fuel injection cleaner lately?
I like using the techron cleaner and I can feel a difference within 2 miles of driving.

i was having the same problem with mine dying and the idle all screwy i went about it a diffrent way though i took the top half of the motor off and cleaned everything turns out i had a gummed up iat "idle air temp sensor" that was bad and it was also causing my car to run bad once it got up to normal temp, cleaning the accessable parts may do fine "for now" but if you want to get rid of the problem completely do what i did take about 6 hours and take the top half apart and clean everything and dont forget to put in new gaskets...... lol hope this may help

i just cleaned the MAF, throttle body, and IAC, i started her up and bam and idled great at 900 for about 10-15 seconds then dropped to about 750 and idles good there.

before i could have to rev it up for a second or it would stall after i start it. so thats good.

but when i turn the heat on, the idles drops and goes weird again..? is that normal for it to drop and be bouncy when the heat is on?
