Go with some 4.56 gears[8D] Since you won't be hitting the freeway the 4.30's will be fine and will really enhance your lower end since you have an aftermarket cam. You will be shifting alot. If that is a problem, 4.10's would be another good option.

Super deep gears with a 5 speed make 1st seem like 4 Low in a 4x4.

If you are serious about driving to Walmart. You'll be doing alot of 2nd gear, or maybe even 3rd gear starts.

4 something gearing is popular with old style transmissions with a mid 2 first gear ratio. Most 5 spds are 3:1 making deep gearing pretty much useless unless you have BIG traction and no torque.

Do you use a sticky tire when you go shopping? Not a smart *** question. Just consider the torque multiplication will give a normal tire no chance.

all depends on how tall a tire you will be using on how useless 1st will be with 4.30's and the
t-5's 3.35 first gear..if using a 26 inch tire and 3.35 t-5 4.10's IMO

ill be running it on M/T ET Drags that are 26/8.5. Do you think 4.30s will have me outgeared by the 1000ft? also i plan on strapping on a redneck performance c4 this winter when the stroker is built. would u suggest these gears over a 4.10 then?
