Easy Q
Ok so lets say I have an explorer intake manifold, gt40 heads, long tube headers and full exhaust done and a stock block/everything else stock. How much supercharged boost is safe to run?
On a side note gt40 heads or gt40p heads? I herd gt40 is aluminum and gt40p is iron and flows a little better. True?

RE: Easy Q
GT40s and GT40Ps are both iron heads. The Ps have smaller valves, but flow a little better because of their turbo swirl combustion chambers. The Ps also have the spark plug located in a different position, and this requires a special header, or some spark plug wire modification. There is a GT40X head that is aluminum.

RE: Easy Q
I had 110,000 miles on my 93 and added a vortech supercharger which held the 10lbs of boost for about two weeks. Now it will get up to about 5-6 lbs of boost then i get blowbye and it pushes oil out the dipstick. Prior to installing the supercharger i did a compression check which was between 130-135 which is good. Just couldnt take the boost. New motor ready to install with forged piston with lower compression at 8.5 to 1 .
