I bought my 5.0 fox with about 1,500 miles on a rebuilt motor. The guy i bought the car from owns a shop and did the rebuild himself. Not long after i bought the car i started to hear a tapping comming from the driver side of the car any time i accelerate. The more i get into it the louder it gets. I'm hesitating on driving the car because i dont want it to be something serious and mess up my motor. I checked the oil already that is fine. any ideas?

make sure it is not an exhaust leak..I just tightened header bolts up for a guy the other day that had a similar complaint

yeah my exhust leak freaked me out at first but it was just a collector gasket

so you think its the headers? i put on an off road h pipe would that be making the difference? i have long tube BBK's with BBK mid pipe and flowmasters out the back.

I didnt notice it when I had the header wrap on...

I really want to change out to a set of BBK's. but I can't seem to being myself to spend the money this soon before I get shipped out

mine leaks with stock headers and pypes o/r x-pipe

I had a problem like that... it ended up being a rocker hitting my valvecover.... easy fix.

well when i get the chance i'll check the exhaust and tighten everything down, and im about to get new heads so if its a rocker, that problem will be solved quickly. Thanks for the input, i'll make a new thread if that doesn't solve it.
