RE: top pawl gear wont come off
not budging.. thing is cracked and wont even come off
looks like the big spring behind it has a coil going thru the cylinder looking part of the pawl on the left side
i put my finger on it and it was definitely metal

RE: top pawl gear wont come off
i dont have a firewall adjuster
i got the summit kit with billet quadrant and adjustable cable
i didnt break it but got it off by prying the spring from inside the engine compartment and going back under the dash and dapping the pawl up it popped right off
can i buy a firewall adjuster and use it with my summit kit?

RE: top pawl gear wont come off
well i got everything installed and working great
BUT.. summit racing did f* me over because the firewall adjuster IS part of my kit
right on my work-order is part # SUM-700102 which is the firewall adjuster
they will be getting a phone call first thing in the morning..
started at about 9pm and its 12 am now.. so 3 hours isnt bad for first time without taking seat out and on the floor in my garage

any time i've put in a new quadrant i didnt have any trouble with them. pull the pins ans the spring and they come right off, takes a big 15-20 mins to pull out the old one and put in the new stuff, i havent bothered with a firewall adjuster, sure it's easier to adjust than getting under the car but it doesnt bother me. i may evantually go for one but i'm content with the quadrant and cable
