well if bottom end is toast ..first item of bussiness is take it to a machine shop and have it checked out to see if it is a usable core........and if it's useable have low compression pistons put in for boost and keep level low on the stock block to around 450 to 500 max hp for reliability.....also pick a good set a heads for build out

this seems like what i wanna do except with an earlier notch

but would stroking the motor to a 331 or 347 be better or should i justleave it a 302 be better

out of a 347 n/a you can most likely hit the goal of 400 rwhp fairly easy.......I'm close to that as my 85 n/a runs mid 11's on a 347

if you plan on a TT and want to make more than 500hp, that block wont cut it

if you want to make around that much, id say just build a 347 and maybe a small shot of giggle gas on top of it for that last little push

a better bet for a TT would be to go find a 351 in a yard or something and get that remanned. that will be alot stronger and hold more power for the TT

x2

IMHO if you really want to end up with TT thats totally sweet but I believe that the 5.0 H.O. block should be avoided in this situation. Its just not worth all you might end up going through to be limited by that block when you are done or have it just let go.

there are several (1)aftermarket blocks, the Ford Boss block comes to mind! ~ ~

also (2)351 or earlier (3)289/302 blocks
