Default fuel injection setup?

ok so ive got my 86 project going on, and was wondering, what the differences were between the 1986 and later fuel injection setups? could i bolt up a intake manifold and setup from say a 89fox? what else would need to be changed? if its a lot, ill just go back to my idea of going carbeurated like i had on my other fox. need to convert to mass air?

Well if your 86 is already speed density all you have to do is do teh mass air conversion, or just swap to a carb depends on your wallet? like always, both have there benifits! efi problems usually a result of doing many mods with no tuining, the best way is a dyno tune after a few mods to get everything right!

but as far as your 86 goes depends on what you want gas mileage, or good ol gulper carb? efi is more expensive to do but worth the money in my opinion!

most think a carb and intake are cheaper (yes if you get junk) if you get credible stuff you can get f/i stuff almost dollar for dollar! you have to bargain shop, summit jegs and many others will cut there own necks to beat the other guy on the price!

I have a 95 Gt and they are supposed to be mod horrible from what i hear but i havent had any problems with mine and i dont have a dyno tune just backyard tune! if you do things right and do your homework it isnt that hard with fuel injection!

If you only change intakes stay S.D. it will be fine and won't care. You also won't havethe headaches of conversions...my 2 cents worth.

The only difference is a larger throttle body (60MM vs. 58MM for the '86) and upper intake manifold to match. You could swap only the throttle body and dremmel out the upper intake or swap the upper intake too.
