My last post was about no timing marks on the balancer. i took some pics and there just arent any. There is a chunk missing out of the balancer, could they have taken weight out to balance the engine and took off the timing marks?

here are some pics if it helps any....is this how the stock piece was cast?

well the skinny area where the chunk is removed in front of that on the skinny portion is where the numbers should be... it doesn't appear to be rusty and all 5.0 balancers should be cast with numbers either that one was seriously so rusty at one point that someone when buffing it/ cleaning it the buffed them off ..or it didn't come with any as a reman one...but never seen that before..either way if there indeed are none stamped on it..I'd go buy a new one that does

 

ok i was going insane looking for those numbers. so a new balancer should be fine andnot throw the balance off or anything right?

 

just get a factory stock balancer for your year 5.0 for a 50 oz balance motor
