can someone tell me if there is something special about an 88lx with a 160 mph stock speedometer

 

i never heard bout a 160 mph spedo on an 88 the 1990 only had a 140 and that is when they changed to a higher spedo. are u sure its stock

 

yes...................... its an 88 and has a 160 speedometer.

He probably isn't since he is just now asking about it. Some speedo shops can have the speedometers changed around so that they can accurately measure up to 160 mph and they put an 160 mph speedo gauge face on it.

 

I believe that some of the CHP edition of the 5.0 may have had a 160mph speedo.

 

its an aftermarket speedo they didnt make a 160 speedo. There was only 85,140,180

 

thank you i was told that there was a police chip in it and yes the speedometer is built from factory i know we all think our mustangs are fast and fun but unless you drove this one you are in for one suprise it will do 70 mph in first at 5000 rpm hits second chirps third is goodbye vette. i was going to make it a strip car but done a little research and come to the conclusion that it is better off being restored to the highway patrol hatchback it was . or sell the thing. right now i dont have the time looking to move so if anybody looking for something special this could be the one. motor is not in car its at machine shop getting its bore on to have the little extra goodbye power it deserves.has original stock trans and rear end needs a little body work interior is good to fair also has the original computer hp. tuned 2000.00 or best offer

 

no this is stoock and is very well poss. a highway patrol car i was told it was when i bought it and after every thing i can find out i bet this is true how can you find out for sure

 

IT SHOULD HAVE OTHER THINGS BESIDE JUST THE SPEEDO IF IT IS A HIGHWAY PATROL CAR.
