Default Emissions Testing

[align=left]Was just offered a transfer for work to California. Anyone have any experience with the emission testing for the state? I'm worried about getting my pony to pass. She chugs a lot of air and runs pretty rich. Comments?

Emissions here ****ing suck. What cam is in your crate engine? Usually they will check for CARB #'s on modification parts if its obvious theyre not stock. And you will need cats to pass visual, IF your car runs clean as it is.

Also this year, they started testing your fuel tank, cap and lines for leaks.

Might as well buy a Honda IMO if you are going to live there.

gee thats helpful [&:]

normally if you have a set of GOOD cats you can pass pretty nicely since you have a crate motor you should be even better off cause they compare that year and model with alot of others of that year and model in stock format, if you have a newer crate motor you;ll have less emmissions comin out the back than a stock 302 with 150+k miles when i bored my car out to a 331 it made less than it did when it was a 302 with who knows how many miles

Honda = no.

I passed the emissions test with my O/R H pipe, then the guy looked underneath and saw there were no cats and failed me. Whether or not that was a fluke, if you have cats, youll be fine.

Or you can find a "good" smog shop and pay $200
