Default Advanced my timing...holy cow

my timing had been set at like 8-9 degrees and i just advanced it to 14...I always run premium...and man what a difference...runs like the wind!...cant believe i havent done it before now!

Lol I had the opposite effect on my engine, it was being run at 20 degrees! I turned it down to 14 and it ran better.

you hook the gun up to the battery, there's a clamp that hooks on to the #1 plug wire hook both of those wires up. Start up you're car and point it towards the harmonic balancer and read the number that the pointer points at.

I have a '94...I assume it is the same...but you also have to remove the spout chip before setting the ignition timing. You need to remove the chip when the car is off and then start it.

Hey my timing set to stock at 10 dgrees and I have a superchip in my computer that advances the timing under full throttle, so do you all think it would benefit me any to advance it to like 12 or 14 or would that be overkill since the chip will be telling the computer to advance anyway?

Ok well i have an 84 and mine was at 9 stock, i bumped it up to 15 now and no spark knock. should i advance it more and see what it does or just keep it like it is?

my dist is locked at 32 total..with 6 deg retard for nos ..but i got 20 deg starting retard also ..it very snappy ...

my 89 was at 1 degree when I bought it in 89 so you know what is ran like with 16
