Default What do you guys think?

So i found out the clunking ive been hearing is the rear end...soooo rebuild time. Car is an 88 GT. Im going to move from 3.55 gears and probably up to a 4.10. My question, is 4.10 to high (or low?) of a gear? I wont be at the strip hardly at all, maybe take it a couple times just to see, but..for when i do, will i be revvin out to high in 4th by the end of the pass. (t-5 trans) Let me know what u think

Highway won't be good with 4.10's, but you'll launch hard and rip through the gears.

I would go with 3.73's or 3.90's myself......60' time will hurt with the 4.10's

haha thats the attitude 94! Anyways, like i said, im not gonna be taking it to the strip much, just down to hwy 100 to show the rice what another half of an engine will do for ya. and for those times i do go to the track, i have a 150 shot kit on the way.

We've got 3.73's and it seems like the only gears you ever get to use is 5th is your driving any distance. Sometimes you can get about in 4th.

Gear choice has many factors. Guys who love the 4 something gear I gaurantee do not have stock engines. A peanut port, stock intake, out of breath at 5000rpm 5L will not like 4.10's.

It also MUST be complimented with a sticky tire.

As for the clunking. Check your TracLok unit. Just a gear swap may not fix it.
