$500 problem???
In the past 2 months my car has lost alot of top end power, and its pinging hard ect. i finally took it to the shop, and the guy said i had a clogged EGR. told me it was gonna run me about $450-$500. Thats going to put a huge dent in my future mods. but i have a few questions about that.
#1 what exactly is a EGR
#2 does this price sound resonable
#3 is there anyway i could clean it wit maybe some carb cleaner or something.(wit very little knowledge)
#4 how much would a new one cost
sorry for the long post but i had to talk to you guys before i through my money for gears and headers out the window.

If it is just clogged, all that you have to do is remove it. The EGR is the canister looking thing that is bolted on to your throttle body. Take it off and shoot some carb. cleaner up in it where the valve is and see if the valve moves. You can do it you're self, but I'm not sure what a new one will cost you.
