starting problems

Default starting problems

i own a 94 gt, it runs great, but when i shut the engine off for about 15 or so minutes it will not start, it turns over but no fire, this only happens after i drive in stop and go traffic on a hot day... i let it sit for a few hours and cool and it starts right up...has anyone else experienced this problem??? any help would be grreatly appreciated. thanks

It sounds like your starter is getting hot.

the starter aint got nothin to do with that its gone have somethin to do with the "fire" or gas that its supposed to get

it's a no start issue not a no crank issue..ya' know there is a difference......when the problem occurs you need to check for spark or fuel or lack there of........it could be a bad stator in the dizzy or a tfi module

so will this tfi or stator module commonly malfunctioin under high heat, but then work fine when cool???

i feel like a total bone head for asking but what exactly is a tfi or a stator module??? i just wanna make sure

the TFI module is the control mechanism that tells the coil when to fire. Its mounted under the the air intake on the passenger side fender well.

the stator is a cam position sensor of sorts, it tells the TFI module WHEN to fire the coil, and is mounted inside the distributor
