Default Leaky Water Pump

So the mustang has been running through coolant pretty fast lately so I took a look, and my water pump is leaking. How much should a new pump run me (just parts)? I figure that between me a buddy and my Haynes manual I should be able to do it no problem. Anything I should watch out for when doing it? Would local parts store like parts source have a pump in stock?

Yeah your local Autozone or whatever should have one, but Id look at Summitracing, they have highflows for the price of an OEM from Autozone. Pretty straight-forward swap

its a pretty easy job to do yourself. make sure the pump comes with a new gasket if not get one and some black rtv. you should be good to do this on your own i dont see why you would need the manual for this job its straight forward

See the only problems with getting an aftermarket pump is that I'm in Canuckistan (Canada) so shipping is kind of a big deal.

oic.. well Summit advertises free shipping to the US, it cant be that much to you, could it? Idk but I say if shipping is not that bad, go for it. Either way, you can handle it easy. And I always use RTV, on anything

Should be about $30. It's pretty easy to do. I did it myself my first time with no help or book and it didn't take to long either.

If all the bolts come out without breaking, use new bolts with chassis grease on the threads.

You'll see the bolts are narrow, and some spots thicker : ) and they are very rusty.

+1 be careful of breaking bolts off. i think i broke 3 of them...mainly around the pump to the block ports. stop leak fixed the leaks though...but that's only a bandage
