need electrical help
How it going guys, its been a while since ive been on here. I need help with an electrical problem that im trying to figure out on my friends car. He was filling up his car at the gas station and he said some gas was leaking out of the bottom which im assuming was the filler neck gasket. After he was done and drove off the car was hesitating and then died out. He couldnt get it started and had it towed home. Ok so the fuel pump isnt priming when you turn on the ignition on so i checked and their is a short in the fuel pump line so i disconected it because it was killing the battery. So i tried to charge the battery afterwards and it wouldnt charge, so i took the battery out, charged it, and put it back in the car and as soon as i hooked it up you could literaly just watch the volts drop on the voltage guage which means more shorts. Does anyone have any idea where all these shorts could be coming from?
you need to hook a multimeter in series with the neg battery cable and set it to amps and see what the draw is 25-50 milliamp is spec for at rest, pull fuses until draw is removed and from that point you'll need a wiring diagram of that circuit to unplug components on that circuit until draw is removed
